SMAN 13 Medan Becomes Grand Champions of Pocari Sweat Futsal Championship 2016

The final round of the Pocari Sweat Futsal Championship 2016 event saw SMAN 4 Yogyakarta duel against SMAN 13 Medanon 20th November 2016 at the GOR C-Tra Arena in Bandung.

The first-half of the match saw both teams on the offensive, with SMAN 4 Yogyakarta taking the lead in the fourth minute through a goal by Mr Anggita Bima. However, SMAN 13 Medan equalised not long after with a goal by Mr MahmudaPoetra.

The first-half ended with the score level at 1-1, as SMAN 4 Yogyakarta players Mr RizkyAji and Mr Rishi Krishna failing to score when provided with the ideal opportunities; Mr Suprayetno of SMAN 13 Medan proved himself as a competition for the defense team of SMAN 4 Yogyakarta at times.

In the second-half, SMAN 13 Medan took the lead through an individual goal led by Mr RizkySuhada in the first minute of play which stunned its opponent, SMAN 4 Jogja.

The goal gave SMAN 4 Yogyakarta the necessary advantage to counter-attack, however their best players, Mr ResiKrisna and Mr Hary Kusuma appeared to be lacking in form possibly due to fatigue. As a result, the attacks proved fruitless.

SMAN 13 Medan’s solid defense was able to counter the ongoing attacks by SMAN 4 Yogyakarta with goalkeeper Mr Dwiki making several crucial saves.

The game ended 2-1 with SMAN 13 Medan crowned as the new champions of Grand Champion PSFC 2016.

SMAN 13 Medan proved to be undefeated in the tournament and became the sixth team to hold the title of Grand Champions.
